British Intelligence: Black Sea Fleet will not have prior control of the sea

British intelligence believes that after successful Ukrainian strikes, the Black Sea Fleet of the aggressor country, Russia, will not be able to have the same control in the Black Sea as before, and will feel less safe in the ports.

    .

This is stated in the intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense dated September 26, published on Twitter.

Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has suffered a number of serious attacks in recent weeks, culminating in strikes on its headquarters on September 20 and 22, according to intelligence data.

Physical harm to the Russian Black Sea Fleet is almost certainly serious, but local. The fleet almost certainly retains the ability to carry out its main wartime missions – missile strikes and local patrols. However, it is likely that its ability to conduct broader patrols in the region and enforce a de facto blockade of Ukrainian ports will further diminish. Also, the Russian Black Sea Fleet likely has a deteriorated ability to protect its facilities in the port and carry out routine maintenance, analysts point out.

The British Defense Ministry believes that the Ukrainian attacks have put the Russian Federation in a situation where it has to react to the actions of the enemy, and demonstrate that the Ukrainian military is capable of questioning the symbolic and strategic “power projection” of Russia that control of Sevastopol provides it with.
