Western missiles that Ukraine already has are better than Russian missiles – they cannot withstand enemy air defense.
The Speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat is confident that Ukraine will receive ATACMS long-range missiles. He said this in the telethon on September 24.
“It will be ATACMS. More and more news is coming out that this will happen. Not only ATACMS, but also other weapons. We understand that the Taurus missiles from the German manufacturer are also necessary for us. The questions are in abundance, because then we have the weapons that we really expect – cruise missiles,” he noted.
The representative of the Air Force emphasized that Western missiles are better than Russian ones.
“The enemy cannot shoot down these missiles, despite the fact that they have an “unparalleled” air defense there. A certain number can be shot down, but as we see from the results, the missiles is reaching, Crimea, which is full of air defense systems, will not be able to withstand missiles made in the West,” Ignat said.
The spokesman added that this is why Ukraine expects more French, German, British missiles and American ballistic ATACMS, which will help “significantly change the situation on the front.”
We remind you that according to media reports, the United States intends to transfer “a small number of ATACMS missiles” to Ukraine.
Journalists also learned that the White House is close to a decision to provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a version of the ATACMS armed with cluster bombs, instead of a warhead.
