Scholz threatened Poland with tightening visa controls

He called on Warsaw to clarify the possible issuance of Schengen visas to applicants from Africa and Asia in exchange for cash payments.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that controls at Poland’s borders may need to be strengthened because of the visa scandal, DW reports.

Scholz made this statement against the backdrop of the influx of migrants to Germany and accusations by Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau of the illegal sale of Schengen visas for 350 thousand migrants from Africa and Asia.

Scholz emphasized that “many people are coming to Europe and Germany, and their numbers have increased dramatically.”

According to him, border controls will be tightened if it appears that the migration situation in Germany is worsening due to Poland’s actions.

Scholz doesn’t want Poland to just “let” migrants into Germany; everyone arriving in Poland must be registered there and also go through the asylum procedure.

He also called on the Polish government to clarify the possible issuance of Schengen visas to applicants from Africa and Asia in exchange for cash payments.

We remind you that Zbigniew Rau previously said that Ukraine’s policies are harmful and offensive.
