Shmigal announced this today, September 23, in his Telegram channel.
Ukraine is interested in attracting American business to the restoration of our state. This was discussed during the first online conversation with the US Special Representative for the Economic Recovery of Ukraine Penny Pritzker, Szmigal emphasized.
Szmigal noted that during a conversation with Pritzker:
- informed about the vision of the Ukrainian authorities regarding the restoration of the country and voiced the needs for each of the rapid recovery priorities – energy, mine clearance, housing restoration, critical infrastructure and the economy;
- thanked USAID for joint business support programs that help create new jobs;
- emphasized that the aggressor will pay for the damage caused – the key tool for this is the confiscation of frozen Russian assets for the restoration of Ukraine;
- discussed the expansion of solidarity corridors and insurance of military risks in the field of logistics;
- discussed progress in reforms towards the EU and NATO and digitalization;
- drew attention to issues of veteran policy and integration of the military into the socio-economic life of the country.
“We are grateful to the United States for supporting the restoration of Ukraine and we look forward to further fruitful dialogue in this direction,” the prime minister concluded.
