Czech authorities have sent new ambassadors to Ukraine and Poland. The diplomatic mission in Kyiv will be headed by Radek Pech, in Poland – by Brzetislav Danczak. Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipovsky said this the other day, Radio Prague reported.
“The Czech Republic is sending new ambassadors to two key points for our foreign and security policy. Radek Pech has received approval from the Ukrainian side and will replace Ambassador Matula in Kiev. Břetislav Danczak, who holds in the position of ambassador to Poland, also received an appointment,” said Lipovsky.
According to him, both diplomats will leave for their duty stations in the fall.

Since 2017, Pech has served as the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Copenhagen, having previously headed the Czech diplomatic missions in Finland and Estonia, Romania and Moldova, as well as in Lithuania, and served as director of several departments of the Czech Foreign Ministry.
Břetislav Dančak worked in an academic environment, and until August 2023 he was vice-rector for international relations at the University. Masaryk in Brno. Danczak specializes in energy security, geopolitics, intra-Visegrad Four relations and transatlantic relations. Since 2018, Danczak has been the head of the Czech-Polish Forum of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
