The Prime Minister of Poland emphasized that “protecting the good name of Poland is the most important task of the government” of his country.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki warned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky not to “insult” the Poles. This is how the head of the Polish government responded to the statement of the Ukrainian leader at the UN General Assembly, where he criticized Poland’s actions. The state news agency PAP reported this on Friday, September 22, citing the prime minister’s statement.
There is a war going on in Ukraine for the security of Europe, and therefore Poland is helping with arms supplies, the Polish official emphasized.
“I want to tell President Zelensky not to hurt the Poles again, as he did recently at the UN, the Poles will not allow this. And protecting the good name of Poland is not only my duty and honor, it is most important work of the government of the Republic.” We will defend all our arguments in the current geopolitical context, and we know how these arguments should be framed,” said Morawiecki.
Let’s recall that Polish President Andrzej Duda, answering a question about Zelensky’s speech, said that although he did not mention Poland, “there was a phrase, and we all understood it.” According to him, “what he said was unfair” and added that he was “a little bitter.”
Earlier, Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw is now focused on organizing its own army and is therefore not transferring military aid to Kyiv.
