Troels Lund Poulsen said that some minor defects in these tanks are being repaired by the Ukrainian side.

Denmark has now transferred 20 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine. However, 12 of them have a series of malfunctions. This is what Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said, reports TV 2 Nyheder.

“Ukraine refused tanks from Germany because they were too worn out. Denmark sent tanks of the same type, which also broke down,” the material said.

As part of large-scale cooperation with Germany and the Netherlands, Denmark transferred Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine. 20 of them arrived in the country, but now it appears that some are defective.

Troels Lund Poulsen confirmed this information and said that 12 of these tanks have some problems. He added that some small problems are being fixed by the Ukrainian side.

“Ten more tanks have been transferred to Ukraine, but are still in Poland. According to available information, two of these tanks have serious malfunctions,” the Danish official explained.

Troels Lund Poulsen said that Ukraine has not yet trained mechanics capable of eliminating serious malfunctions. Therefore, the German side will repair the tanks next week.

A spokesman for German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said there were not enough spare parts and personnel to repair the tanks.

The Danish Ministry of Defense announced in early July that the delivery of Danish, German and Dutch tanks has been delayed. This was due to technical problems in the reconstruction of the cannon towers.

We remind you that Ukraine refused to receive 10 German Leopard 1 tanks because they were in poor condition and needed repair.

Earlier, the German government announced the provision of another military aid package to Ukraine, which included Leopard 1A5 tanks.
