US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said this at today’s briefing.
According to him, Russia will try to “deprive innocent people of such necessary things as heat and electricity.” Therefore, US President Biden has decided that he will not provide long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine for now, but he does not rule it out in the future.
We would like to receive additional resources from Congress on October 1 to ensure there are no supply disruptions,” Sullivan said.
The $325 million military aid package that the US President will announce today is intended to help Ukraine maintain the momentum of its counteroffensive. The package is expected to include a second tranche of cluster munitions fired from a 155mm howitzer cannon.
War is inherently unpredictable. Therefore, we need to have some flexibility and adaptability in our approach to the capabilities in munitions, air defense systems and other critical elements that Ukraine will continue to receive from its partners in NATO and other countries around the world. And we, the United States, are committed to making sure they get them,” Sullivan said.
Let us remind you that President Vladimir Zelensky is on a visit to Washington and will meet with US President Joe Biden.
