The US presidential candidate said Russia’s bombing of maternity hospitals in Ukraine was horrific, but he had a “very good relationship” with Putin.
Former US President Donald Trump has said that he is “very good” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump spoke about this in an interview with NBC, Voice of America reports.
In particular, Trump said that it is important to find a mutual understanding with Putin because he has 1,700 nuclear missiles. Therefore, “mutual understanding of him is positive, not negative.”
“And yet I found a common language with Putin. Let me say that I found a common language with him very well. And that’s good. Not bad. He has 1,700 nuclear missiles, and that’s it. That’s good. Finding a common language is normal,” Trump said in a published transcript of the conversation.
The full version of the conversation will air on Sunday, September 17, but the journalist has already shared his impressions of the conversation with NBC.
Host Kristen Welker said that during the interview she reminded Trump about Russia’s bombing of maternity hospitals in Ukraine, the kidnapping of Ukrainian children, the graves of Ukrainians killed by Russia and asked the attitude of politicians here.
“It’s scary,” Trump said, but stressed that he has a “very good relationship” with Putin. “No one has been tougher on Russia than I have been,” Trump added.
He also repeated what he said in the previous interview: “Putin loves Ukraine very much.” “This is the apple of his eye,” Trump said, describing Putin’s obsession with Ukraine.

In the past, Donald Trump said that Ukraine could avoid an attack from Russia if it agreed to territorial concessions and the neutral status of NATO.
To this, the OP answered him that Ukraine will not give up the territory to end the war, because it is a matter of self-respect and independence.
