Ukraine’s western neighbor will become the fifth country to make this decision. Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland have recently done so.
Poland, immediately after similar decisions by the Baltic countries and Finland, decided to ban the entry of cars with Russian license plates. The decision will take effect on Sunday, September 17. This was said by the Minister of the Interior of Poland, Mariusz Kaminski, reported on the ministry’s Twitter account on Saturday, September 16.
“Following the publication on September 8 of this year of the directives of the European Commission prohibiting the entry of vehicles registered in Russia into the EU, I would like to inform you that this ban at the Polish border will come into force from tomorrow and in force this midnight,” said the official.
Kaminsky explained that starting tomorrow, not a single passenger vehicle registered in Russia will be able to enter the territory of the Polish state.
We remind you that Finland intends to ban entry for vehicles with Russian license plates.
