The United States of America plans to increase monthly production of 155 mm and reach 100 thousand units in 2025. The Pentagon’s chief procurement officer, Bill LaPlante, said this on September 15 during a conference on Friday, Reuters reports.
In 2025 we will be at the level of 100 thousand per month. Six or eight months ago we were at the level of 14 thousand per month, today we have 28 thousand per month,” he noted.
In August, the US Department of Defense reported that it had provided Ukraine with more than 2 million 155-mm caliber shells since the start of the full-scale war.
Let us recall that on September 6, the European Defense Agency signed the first eight contracts with manufacturers in Brussels for the joint purchase of 155 mm ammunition. The contracts cover shells for the most common self-propelled howitzers transferred by the allies to Ukraine – the French Caesar, the Polish Krab, the German Panzerhaubitze 2000 and the Slovak Zuzana.
