The bodies of the heroes were repatriated to government-controlled territory on Friday, September 15. The transfer of the bodies took place thanks to the joint work of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Office of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Office for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Coordination Headquarters reported this on Telegram.
Over two years of work, we managed to repatriate the bodies of 1,832 Ukrainian soldiers.
Let us remind you that on August 4, the bodies of servicemen who gave their lives for Ukraine were also transferred, and the authorities then managed to return the bodies of 44 heroes to their relatives.
And on July 12, the Ukrainian authorities managed to return the bodies of 19 people who died in captivity of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation.
