But lawyers point out that admission to a foreign educational institution requires thorough preparation.
You will have to not only collect a package of various documents, but also order their translation with notarization, Victoria Derevyanko, a private notary of the Kyiv City Notary District, told Rakurs.
In turn, the notary has the right to certify the authenticity of the signature only of a certified translator with the appropriate qualifications. Notarization of the translation of this documentation is not always sufficient. They can be legalized in another way (apostille, consular legalization). This depends on the country and the specific educational institution.
In some cases, an apostille may be required, and for some countries, double legalization will be necessary, explains the notary.
When applying to European educational institutions, you usually need to fill out a special application form using a standard form. Derevianko advises paying attention to the accuracy and correctness of filling out the form in a foreign language; if in doubt, you can always turn to a professional translation agency for help.
There is also a difference between the packages of documents for higher educational institutions and secondary specialized educational institutions, colleges and gymnasiums, where applicants enter after the 9th grade. Graduates of ninth grade are minors, so additional documents (applications) from parents may be required, the authenticity of whose signatures will need to be notarized.
