A person who sent intelligence information about the deployment of soldiers in the Slavyansk region was detained in the Donetsk region.
Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service detained an informant of the Russian special services, who was collecting intelligence information about the locations of Ukrainian defenders in the Slavyansk region. The SBU press service reported this on September 14.
It was noted that the enemy is most interested in the deployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service on the front-line territory of the region.
To collect intelligence data, the defendant walked around the city and nearby villages, where he secretly recorded the positions of the Defense Forces.
The Russian informant remotely transmitted the information received to the aggressor through two “connectors” in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. They turned out to be the battalion commander of the Yenakievo-Danube Brigade and a militant of the motorized rifle regiment of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.
It was established that the defendant transmitted intelligence data in the form of voice messages through a popular messenger. He hopes that this method will not attract the attention of law enforcement.

SBU counterintelligence officers detained the attacker at his residence. During a search, a mobile phone was found with evidence of subversive activities in favor of the Russian Federation.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion of providing assistance to the armed formations of the aggressor state in conducting combat operations against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being decided. The perpetrator faces up to 15 years in prison.
We remind you that the day before the SBU detained a Russian informant in Odessa who wanted to “hack” the military phone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for intelligence data.
