This is how the US State Department commented on the meeting of two dictators in the Russian Far East.
When you see what looks like increased cooperation and likely military transfers, it is troubling and potentially violates numerous UN Security Council resolutions that Russia itself has supported,” State Department Speaker Matthew Miller was quoted by Voice of America as saying.
He added that Washington would “not hesitate” to impose additional sanctions on Russia and North Korea if they enter into any new arms deals.
The United States is concerned about the deepening military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK amid the meeting between Putin and Kim Jong-in.
The leader of the DPRK on the evening of September 13 raised a glass to Putin’s health and made a toast, declaring that he was “confident in Russia’s success” in carrying out the so-called “SVO,” that is, in the war against Ukraine.
He emphasized that he wants to develop relations with the Russian Federation and supports all of Putin’s decisions:
I hope that we will always be together in the fight against imperialism.
The conversation between the two dictators lasted about four hours.
