With the help of the trust fund, all EU countries will be able to provide military support to Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov proposed to create a trust fund for Ukraine in the European Union. On Saturday, June 4, Reznikov said on the sideline of the GLOBSEC-2022 International Security Forum, the website of the Ministry of Defense reports.
He noted that the creation of such a fund would help countries that want to help Ukraine, but currently there is no opportunity.
“With its help, all willing EU countries will be able to provide military support to Ukraine,” Reznikov explained.
During the GLOBSEC-2022 International Security Forum, Reznikov assessed the level of assistance to Ukraine as allowing only to deter the aggressor. At the same time, he stressed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces needs more to launch an effective counter-offensive and push the Russian occupiers out of our state, liberating all temporarily occupied territories.
“In the first stage, we want to increase our capabilities. Next – to discuss our future neighborhood in Russia,” said Reznikov.
Earlier, Reznikov said Ukraine expects new shipments of military aid from the United States and Poland.
