The head of the State Department believes that the Ukrainians are ready to enter into negotiations, but Moscow is not interested in it.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Ukraine is ready to negotiate with Russia if the Kremlin shows interest in diplomacy. Blinken revealed this on Sunday, September 10, on ABC.
“Regarding negotiations, it takes two to nod. And so far we have not seen any signs of interest in diplomacy on the part of Vladimir Putin. If he shows interest, I think the Ukrainians will be the first to enter negotiations, and we will follow them immediately,” the Secretary of State said.
Blinken says everyone wants this war to end.
“But it must end on fair and sustainable terms that reflect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the US foreign policy chief stressed.
Earlier, the OP explained why Ukraine can’t negotiate with Russia now.
Also, President Vladimir Zelensky authorized negotiations at the diplomatic level with Russia to end the war, but only after fulfilling all the points of his peace formula.
