The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested Russia’s Charge d’Affaires regarding the violation of the country’s airspace and the discovery of fragments of Russian drones. Reuters reported this on Sunday, September 10.
“The Charge d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Bucharest was immediately summoned on Saturday to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the level of the Secretary of State,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
It was noted that during the meeting, the Romanian Secretary of State for Strategic Affairs Iulian Foto expressed dissatisfaction in Bucharest about the violation of Romanian airspace and the discovery of such “fragments of drones similar to used by Russian troops in the invasion against Ukraine.”
We remind you that on September 7, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced that Russian “martyrs” crashed and exploded on the territory of Romania. Subsequently, the Romanian Ministry of Defense admitted that parts of a Russian drone fell on Romanian territory during Russia’s shelling of a Ukrainian port on the Danube River at the border of Ukraine and Romania.
On September 9, in Romania, in the Plaura area of Tulcea County, fragments of a UAV similar to those used by Russian troops in the war against Ukraine were discovered.
