The participants of the G20 summit agreed on the text of the final declaration and adopted this document. This statement was made by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, the Times of India reported on Saturday, September 9.
“Thanks to our hard work and your support, there is a consensus regarding the declaration of the leaders of the G20 summit in New Delhi. I announce the adoption of the declaration,” he said and thanked everyone who made the adoption of the final document possible.
The publication clarified that the declaration will be announced on Sunday at the end of the summit, and its adoption is a victory for India’s G20 presidency.
In turn, Bloomberg, citing a source familiar with the discussion, reported that diplomats from the G20 countries reached a compromise on the language of the war in Ukraine. Moreover, the wording is similar to those agreed upon at the 2022 summit in Indonesia.
We remind you that the 18th G20 summit will take place on September 9-10 in the capital of India, New Delhi. This is the first leadership meeting of the group to be held in South Asia.
In his opening remarks at the summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the war, although he did not indicate where it was going or name the participating countries.
