At one of the nuclear power plants in Ukraine, another 1000 MW nuclear unit went out of repair ahead of schedule. The Ministry of Energy announced this on Saturday, September 9.
“More than two weeks earlier than planned, another nuclear unit of one of the nuclear power plants with a capacity of 1000 MW came out of repair. The electricity produced by the power plants in Ukraine is enough to meet the consumer needs,” the message said.
The department recalled that electrical engineers continue to prepare the energy system for the heating season, which may occur in the context of Russian attacks. A large-scale repair campaign is underway at facilities of all types of generation.
In Krivoy Rog, after a Russian missile attack, power engineers check the condition of gas equipment. Because of this, the gas supply to the damaged houses was cut off. In the past 24 hours, gas has been restored to 60 subscribers; others are scheduled to be connected today.
The fear of the enemy continues on the front-lines and border areas with the Russian Federation. Yesterday in the Zaporozhye region, after shelling, a 35 kV overhead line was damaged and two 35 kV substations were de-energized. They will start to check and repair after the permission of the military. Previously damaged lines are being restored in the region. During the day, energy drinks recovered almost 5 thousand subscribers.
In the Donetsk region, two 35 kV overhead lines were shut down due to peeling, which led to the loss of electricity to 10.5 thousand consumers in 22 settlements. Subscribers recovered slightly.
Due to the initial shutdown, some consumers in Kharkov, Kherson, Sumy and Chernigov regions remain without power.
Earlier, Ukrenergo said the energy system would be viable this winter. Now preparations are underway for the heating season – from 60% to 80% of the work has been completed. Particular attention is paid to protecting the equipment from possible attacks.
