President Vladimir Zelensky expressed his condolences to those affected by the earthquake in Morocco.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is examining the presence of Ukrainian citizens among those injured as a result of the strong earthquake in Morocco. This was announced by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko in Twitter on Saturday, September 9.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is checking the presence of Ukrainians among the injured people as a result of the earthquake in Morocco. So far, such information has not been received,” wrote Nikolenko.
He added that to receive assistance, Ukrainians should contact the hotline of the Ukrainian Embassy in Rabat at +212 6 61 18 63 90.
President Vladimir Zelensky expressed his condolences to those affected by the earthquake in Morocco.
“On behalf of the Ukrainian people and on my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences to His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, the relatives and friends of the victims of the terrible earthquake in the region of Marrakech .I wish a speedy recovery to the injured Ukraine stands in solidarity with Morocco in this difficult time,” Zelensky wrote in Twitter.
We remind you that on Friday night a strong earthquake occurred in Morocco. The US Geological Survey rates it at 6.8. The epicenter is located at a relatively shallow depth of 18.5 km, 70 km from the city of Marrakesh, the historic center of which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
More than 200 were killed immediately, but according to the latest data, their number has exceeded 630 and these data are still far from final.
