The aggressor country Russia plans to build 6,000 kamikaze drones on its territory with the help of Iran.
Russia is working on upgrading Shahed kamikaze drones. The enemy also plans to improve guided aerial bombs. The spokesman of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, announced this on Friday, September 8, during a telethon.
He noted that the Russian Federation is actively modernizing Iranian drones, making them less noticeable to Ukrainian radar systems.
Answering a question about the modernization of KABs, Ignat said that the guided aerial bomb itself has been redesigned: “They made a controlled aerial bomb from an ordinary high-explosive aerial bomb, that is, they enlarged the radius of application so that the enemy fighter does not enter the destruction zone.”
He noted that with such KABs the Russians can attack from a distance of about 50 km from the battle line, from an altitude of more than 10,000 meters, and the bomb will fly about 70 km, hitting in Ukrainian positions.
“Yes, they want to modernize them. Maybe GPS navigation to make aerial bombs more accurate. We see that these bombs have been in use for several months now, and their accuracy is not high,” said Ignat
Earlier it was reported about the attack of UAVs in the south of the Odessa region. The attack lasted three hours. As a result of the Shahed raid, civil and port infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Izmail region. Two people are known to have been injured.
