The founder of SpaceX said that the communication system was still not activated, and he simply rejected Ukraine’s application for activation, so as not to be an accomplice in the attack on the Russian fleet.
American entrepreneur Elon Musk has denied CNN’s claim that Ukraine will cut off access to its Starlink service off the coast of Crimea in 2022. Here’s what he says wrote on the social network X (Twitter).
At the same time, Musk clarified that the system in this area was not turned on and he rejected Ukraine’s request to activate it due to concerns about a possible attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Russian fleet.
“From government agencies [Украины] an emergency request was received to activate Starlink to Sevastopol. Apparently the goal was to sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor. If I agree to their request, then SpaceX will be a clear accomplice in a major act of war and conflict escalation,” Musk said.
Earlier, CNN, citing a new biography of Musk, reported that he gave the order to disable the Starlink satellite communication network off the coast of Crimea in order to interrupt the attack that Ukraine is preparing against the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Did Musk prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from attacking Crimea? Long-standing love for the Russian Federation
