Interfax-Ukraine reports this with reference to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko.
We will check those VLKs where problems were discovered, we will check medical institutions where a high percentage of decisions about unsuitability were made. Now we are developing an algorithm,” Lyashko said.
All changes relate to the category “unsuitable in peacetime, limitedly suitable in wartime.”
The minister also noted that a large number of criminal cases have already been opened.
At the same time, Lyashko did not specify the time frame for reviewing the decisions of the VLK.
Let us recall that on August 30, the president held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council dedicated to the reform of military medical commissions (MMC). The authorities will conduct a comprehensive review of the validity of VLK decisions regarding disability and unfitness for military service, which were made in the period from February 24, 2022 and may be associated with corruption violations.
Based on the results of the inspection, conclusions will be drawn about those persons who, on the basis of falsified decisions of the VLK, traveled abroad since the start of the full-scale aggression.
In addition, the authorities want to intensify the expansion of opportunities to undergo VLC in the system of civilian medical institutions.
At the same time, other tough statements on mobilization are being heard from the ruling party “Servant of the People”.
Ukrainians liable for military service who left Ukraine with fake certificates of unfitness for service may be forcibly returned home. To do this, Ukraine can turn to other countries with a request for extradition, said the head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, David Arakhamia.
Lawyers say that this is a difficult task, because for every case of fleeing abroad for false documents, Ukrainian law enforcement officers will have to contact another country and prove that the person is hiding there and arrived illegally.
Only after this can the extradition procedure be used. Taking into account European legal standards, it can be appealed in court in Bulgaria, Poland or Romania. The final decision will follow the court. Therefore, of course, this is a very difficult procedure, but we will think about how to make it more flexible,” Venislavsky told Radio Liberty.
