After 36 days of war in Ukraine, Georgian authorities said they were participating in the policy of international sanctions against the aggressor country.
Georgia imposed all the financial sanctions against Russia launched by Western countries. This is what Georgian leader Salome Zurabishvili said on the air of the CNN TV channel on Thursday, March 31.
“We participate in all international financial sanctions against the Russian Federation, and this really means something for our financial sector,” the head of state said.
In addition, according to Zurabishvili, Georgia now supports all international resolutions created to support Ukraine.
It will be recalled that after Russia’s entire invasion of Ukraine, the Georgian authorities said they did not intend to impose sanctions against the aggressor country. Tbilisi continued to cooperate with Moscow, noting that its decision to attack Ukraine was not a hindrance.
At the same time, Georgians are gathering for thousands of rallies in support of Ukraine.
