Russia will not leave lightly the decision of the US to send the confiscated funds of the sanctioned businessmen for the needs of Ukraine. This is what Kremlin speaker Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on Wednesday, September 7.
“Realized (as the United States decided, – ed.) is completely negative. We consider all cases related to the interception, arrest or other detention of any funds related to the state, private, mixed property of the Russian Federation abroad as illegal acts. Of course, the few allegations that they managed to find justification for expanding this lawlessness are completely legal nonsense, and in any case they will lead one way or another to the trial in the future,” he said.
Peskov assured that “none of the cases of such illegal stay will be left without attention,” and that following it will be “quite serious legal proceedings and it will not be left like that.”
The spokesman of the Kremlin, said about the “flagrant fact”, which is “difficult to fit in the head.”
“It is contrary to everything that can only be imagined from the point of view of both international and national law of these states. But as soon as such an opportunity is given, of course, we will defend our rights,” he assured.
Remember, yesterday it became known that the United States for the first time will transfer to Ukraine the confiscated properties of Russian oligarchs who fell under sanctions. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the confiscated Russian money will go to support veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
