Greece has extended temporary protection for Ukrainian citizens for another six months. The decision was made by Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum Dimitris Kayridis, reports ekathimerini.com.

The previous six-month status expired on 4 September. Now Ukrainians who are forced to go abroad will use temporary asylum in Greece until March 4, 2024. Financial assistance is not provided, humanitarian assistance can be obtained from charitable organizations.
The Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum has created an information portal for Ukrainian asylum seekers, which is available in Ukrainian, English and Greek.
Greece sheltered 25 thousand fugitives from the war in Ukraine. Refugees have access to public health care and education, as well as the right to temporary housing at a reception point in Sintiki. Serres II in Northern Greece and Elefsina in the Attica region are also available.
