Parliament canceled liability for officials who forgot to declare property in the amount of up to 1.3 million hryvnias.
The Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, September 5, adopted a bill on electronic declaration for representatives and civil servants, which removes responsibility for officials who did not indicate property in the declaration in the amount of up to 1.3 million hryvnias. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram.
According to him, 305 parliamentarians voted for the adoption of bill No. 9587-d.
The adopted document amends the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and other laws on improving the procedure for bringing to justice persons authorized to perform functions of state or local self-government.
Zheleznyak noted that amendment No. 25 was introduced into the law, which will allow those who forgot to declare property worth up to UAH 1.3 million to avoid liability. This amendment was supported by 250 representatives of the people. There were some other changes in the law, but they were rejected.
The People’s Deputy believes that the law in this form will not be approved by Ukraine’s international partners.
Recall that the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the continuation of electronic declarations during martial law. The text of the law was adopted with a provision providing for keeping the register of declarations closed for another year.
Yesterday, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption restored access to the registry of corrupt officials, but some of the information in it was hidden.
