In the Czech Republic, the City Court of Prague sentenced Aleiza Polak, who fought in Ukraine in the ranks of the separatists, to 21 years in prison. The attacker is currently out of the country.

This is reported by the Czech News Agency.
According to the prosecution, Polak, a resident of Brno, left the Czech Republic in December 2016 for the territory controlled by the terrorists of the so-called DPR. In the ranks of the militants, he first served as a sniper, and then became a platoon foreman.
Polak has been very active on Facebook, but has stopped posting since April 2022 — the last post was a photo of a tank at a gas station in Donetsk.
In this regard, the protection of the mercenary argues that he could have already died. However, the investigation has information that even at the beginning of the summer of 2023, Polak was in the area and continued to participate in hostilities.
It is noted that the court considered the case of Polak for the third time. In the previous main trials, he was each time sentenced to 20 years in prison, but then murders of people were not included in the conviction, which was mainly based on the status of Polak on Facebook, in which he himself stated that he had “four notches”.
In the course of this legal proceeding, the conclusion of the military examination and the metadata of the photographs were attached.
This fully supports the conclusion that the defendant killed four members of the Ukrainian government units. Locations, times and placements in individual separatist units are consistent. The defendant was there at that time and there were losses of life and injuries, the prosecutor noted.
This is in line with what the defendant taught in his social media posts. It is evident that he did not exaggerate or invent, he added.
If this sentence is declared final, and Polak himself returns to the Czech Republic in the future, he will have the opportunity to demand a new consideration of his case. In such a case, the original sentence is automatically set aside and the court appoints a new main trial, in which he cannot be punished more severely than originally.
