President Volodymyr Zelensky honored soldiers who fell in the Russian-Ukrainian war. This was reported by the press service of the head of state on the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine on Tuesday, August 29.
“We honor the memory of Ukrainians and Ukrainian women who gave their lives in defense of our state. Defense of the freedom of Ukraine, freedom for all our people. The integrity of Ukraine. The right of Ukraine to belong to free countries,” the president said.
Zelensky installed a flower arrangement at the Wall of Remembrance on Mikhailovskaya Square in Kyiv.
“No words will be sufficient to fully describe the strength, greatness and self-sacrifice of a hero who remains forever in battle, so that only his people can maintain their will and win. Words are always less than to what we feel. And let the tears be now, let the silence be now stronger than any words, let our respect, completely sincere, tell everyone how we really feel and if how grateful we are to all our defenders and defenders, whose life became the life of Ukraine … May the memory of all our soldiers be blessed,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The President and the audience honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine in a minute of silence.
