The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions.

This was announced today, August 29, by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Now the situation is this:
- in the direction of Novodanilovka-Verbove, the Ukrainian military were successful;
- in the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations south of the city of Bakhmut, and consolidate on the achieved lines;
- the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Avdiivka and Maryinka in the Donetsk region. The enemy suffers significant losses in personnel, weapons and equipment, carries out the movement of units and troops, and actively uses reserves;
- The defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the Kupyansky, Limansky and Bakhmut directions. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Kleshchievka area of the Donetsk region. There are heavy battles.
