Control over the use of samples of seeds and planting material is carried out by the State Food and Consumer Service.
The Cabinet of Ministers has simplified the import of unregistered plant varieties into Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, August 28, through the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
“Thus, the obligations of the European integration of Ukraine to provide opportunities to entrepreneurs to use a small amount of seeds and planting material of unregistered varieties for scientific purposes or breeding work are fulfilled,” the ministry said.
According to the document, an appropriate procedure for issuing or refusing, reissuing, canceling confirmation for importing into Ukraine samples of seeds and material of plant varieties and monitoring their use was established.
The US government is giving Ukraine $250 million in financial aid to support the agricultural sector.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine and the EU will create a platform for agricultural exports.
Recall that farmers have attracted about UAH 30 billion in loans since the beginning of the year.
