On August 25, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, against the backdrop of a scandal with the purchase of jackets for military personnel, suggested to the couple: if 180,000 jackets purchased from a Turkish company turn out to be elderly, as journalists and the MP say, he will resign. The head of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Council, Anastasia Radina, whom the minister, in particular, proposed to the couple, put forward a counter proposal.

I suggest that Minister Reznikov refute the information about the purchase of “winter” jackets for the military by the morning of August 28 or resign. The Minister must now deal with his subordinates. Should have provided military UAVs. Should run a logistics procurement agency. The minister should organize the modernization of aircraft. This list goes on. What the minister definitely should not do is waste time (for which Ukrainians pay with their lives) to fight journalists (who already help save 10 billion hryvnia of funds to support the army), Radina said.
The parliamentarian made a counter proposal to Reznikov: by 9:00 am on August 28, to refute the fact that:
-
The Ministry of Defense bought jackets without a tender from a “Turkish” intermediary company, one of the owners of which at the time of the agreement with the Ministry of Defense was the Ukrainian nephew of the people’s deputy from the defense committee, Kasai. Even Kasai himself did not deny the involvement of his nephew in the company;
-
The Ministry of Defense paid for the jackets three times more than it is indicated in the document from the Turkish side, with which the cargo left Turkey and passed other customs offices up to the border of Ukraine (the reliability of the document was confirmed by the head of the VSK for investigating economic crimes, Yaroslav Zheleznyak).
If you do not refute, you resign. Refute – I will draw up a mandate immediately after the adoption of the law on the resumption of public declaration of the state of officials, including military commissars and unfortunate buyers for the army (you personally oppose the latter), Radina suggested.
Recall that one of the owners of the Turkish company, which received 30 million dollars. 26-year-old Oleksandr Kasai, 26-year-old Oleksandr Kasay, turned out to be the nephew of the people’s deputy of the Servant of the People faction, Gennady Kasai, for the scandalous purchase of light jackets for the Ukrainian military under the guise of winter ones. People’s Deputy Kasai is a member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence A suspicious scheme for the purchase of light jackets at the price of winter ones became known thanks to another journalistic investigation published on August 10 on ZN.UA. Then it turned out that the cost of one batch of 4.9 thousand jackets for the army on the way between Turkey and Ukraine increased by about 300 thousand dollars. – deliveries at first cost 142 thousand dollars, and became 421 thousand. On the way to Ukraine, these simple camouflage jackets became “winter” according to the documents.
