Crimea is the key to security in the Black Sea, and Ukraine will not leave this key in the hands of terrorists, the president assured.
The main task of the Crimean Platform is to prepare for the de-occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at the opening of the 3rd Crimean Platform Summit in Kyiv on Wednesday, August 23.
“We understand how we are going to return to Crimea. We understand how many steps we have to take. We understand how difficult it is. It is an important task, but we see it this way,” he said.
The head of state recalled that a year later, Ukrainian soldiers did extraordinary things.
“Ukraine showed that the liberation of our land during military operations was not accidental. Everything is deserved, it is the heroism of our people and defense support from our partners. I thank all partners,” said Zelensky and assured that “Crimea will be de-occupied, like the rest of Ukraine, which now, unfortunately, is under the occupiers.”
Zelensky emphasized that “Ukraine does not trade in territories, because Ukraine does not trade in people.”
“The Black Sea is the key to global food and social stability. Crimea is the key to security in the Black Sea. You cannot leave the keys in the hands of terrorists. And we will not,” the president promised.
According to Zelensky, large international companies are ready to enter Crimea after its de-occupation.
These are powerful brands of international hotel chains, airlines, banking business, technology and telecommunication companies, industrial companies… Crimea will become part of the global economy. And now we take the first step in the economy. We signed the first document with companies willing to go to Crimea under Ukraine. It is an open document, open for any other honest business to join,” said the head of state.
The day before, NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov named a likely path for the liberation of Crimea and assured that such a position of Ukraine does not need to pay attention to anyone and conduct any consultations.
