“The joint strategic training of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation West 2025 will be held during the period from September 12 to 16, 2025,” said the head of the Department of the International Military Cooperation-Assistant Minister of Defense Valery Revenko.
According to him, the subject of these teachings is: “The use of groups of troops (forces) in interests to ensure the Union’s state military security.”
“The general goal is to prove the capabilities of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation to ensure the Union’s State military security, preparing to repel possible aggression,” Renenko added.
He also noted that countries that send their observers may ensure that “the openness and transparency of maneuvers.”
“In addition, all foreign military attaches, in which representatives of NATO member states,” he said, will have the opportunity to observe accredited exercises in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, “he said.
As you know, last week Russia began transferring troops to Belarus, which would participate in West-2025 exercises. These maneuvers are regularly held every two years. According to official numbers, 13 thousand military personnel should take part in future events.
