An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on Sunday, August 20, occurred in the south of the US state of California, when Tropical Storm Hillary made rain there, Reuters reports.
It is known that the epicenter of the earthquake was north of Los Angeles in Ventura County. It was followed by several smaller aftershocks.
“There have been no reports of damage or casualties, but the earthquake was strongly felt throughout Ventura County,” the county said in a statement.
The US tsunami monitoring service said there was no threat from the ocean as a result of the earthquake.
