Western politicians, contrary to the fears of the Russian leader, did not plan to overthrow him. Putin “is responsible for his dictatorship.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin is “very afraid” that the West wants to topple his regime, but there are no such plans. This was said by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, whose words were quoted by Deutsche Welle.
“We are not planning regime change (in Russia). We are not deciding who will sit where,” Scholz said.
According to him, only Putin is “responsible for his dictatorship.” However, “he has to live with the fact that the European Union is by his side – as a community of open societies, liberal democracies – and somehow hope that freedom is not a virus,” added Scholz.
He also promised that he would try to prevent Germany from being drawn directly into the war in Ukraine.
It will be remembered that Scholz has not yet decided on the issue of delivery of German Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Scholz spoke about obligations for the supply of weapons to Ukraine
