The Czech authorities are preparing a special program for the voluntary return of refugees to Ukraine. On Sunday, August 20, Radio Prague International reports.
This program provides, in particular, the provision of assistance and reimbursement of part of the costs of return. The government plans to decide on the type of support which funds will be allocated.
This is stated in the draft sixth amendment to the law, known as lex Ukrajina, on the rights and obligations of Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic. According to the Czech Interior Ministry, there are 360,900 refugees from Ukraine with temporary protection visas in the country, most of them women and children.
“It is necessary to respond to the growing need of foreigners for assistance in returning to Ukraine. Although the situation in Ukraine is increasingly unsatisfactory, it is appropriate to offer assistance to those interested in returning,” said the accompanying note to amendment. .
Recall that in July in the Czech Republic the period for free residence of Ukrainian refugees was reduced.
