German automakers BMW and Audi have disconnected Russian dealers from the software. On Monday, August 21, the Russian edition of Izvestia reported.
It is noted that the maintenance and update history of the elements is no longer available to the owners of these brands.
Dealerships told reporters that now the owners of these cars will not be able to duplicate the keys, and it is not known whether the dealers will be able to diagnose the cars.
The services also warn that one must wait for the functional limits of the official BMW ConnectedDrive application, with the help of which the remote ignition, heating the car, monitoring the fuel level and information about the update and recall campaigns are available.
The publication notes that similar problems have arisen and Audi owners. In one of the official dealerships of this brand, the manager said, on condition of anonymity, that access to the software for owners was limited two months ago.
Last year, it became known that the Mercedes concern left the Russian market. The German company became the third major manufacturer of passenger cars, which was forced to sell its assets in Russia.
Prior to this, automaker Toyota stopped making cars at its plant in St. Petersburg due to the inability to “continue normal activities.”
