Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has reacted to rumors that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is looking for his replacement. In particular, on Saturday, August 19, in an interview with Channel 24, Reznikov said that he “could stop himself.”
“When the president and I discussed his offer for the position in August 2021, he knew it was not my dream. It was discussed immediately that this was a temporary story for me. I am not someone who wants to be an official all his life “. I have no political ambitions. He knew about my plans – the desire to lecture and engage in private practice,” said Reznikov.
The minister emphasized that such decisions are made by the president.
At the same time, Reznikov added, he himself could quit, if “the people who want his resignation no longer have the energy and sense of humor.”
Recall that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said in his view how the country should be changed in ten years.
