During the siege of Mariupol, Donetsk region, Russian occupiers killed at least 147 children. This was announced on Saturday, August 19, in a message on the Telegram channel of the City Council.
“Thanks to the resistance of Mariupol, it is possible to get a list of children killed in the Donetsk region for 2022. The children of Mariupol went through registration in morgues in the temporarily occupied: Mariupol, Mangush and Novoazovsk. cities from Russian invaders,” said the city council.
It is known that of the 101 registered children who were killed, 87 bodies will be identified.
“The data obtained allowed us to verify the number of children who died during the siege of Mariupol. A terrible number is 147 children. Unfortunately, we understand that this number could be higher,” said Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko.
The City Council has published some of these documents in compliance with the terms of the personal data protection law.
“But we do not recommend reading them for those who are particularly sensitive. Each item is a terrible human tragedy. Some of this list is less than a year old,” added Boychenko.
Boychenko emphasized that every war criminal should receive a fair punishment.
It was previously reported that civilians will not receive basic medical care in Mariupol, as the occupiers are forcing medical institutions to serve the wounded Russian military.
