Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Carl XVI Gustaf for Ukraine’s comprehensive support in the war against Russia.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska met with Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian leader on Saturday, August 19.
During the meeting, Zelensky thanked Sweden for Ukraine’s comprehensive support in the war against Russia.
“We greatly appreciate Sweden’s powerful assistance in all possible areas. This is a significant contribution to the Ukrainians’ struggle for independence and a European future,” he said.
The President noted the support from Sweden for the Ukrainians who were forced to seek temporary asylum in this country, fleeing the invasion of the Russian Federation.
Vladimir and Elena Zelensky also spoke about the consequences of the war unleashed by the Russian Federation and thanked Sweden for humanitarian assistance to victims in Ukraine.
Recall that today President Zelensky visited Sweden, where he met with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. During the negotiations, the question of the possible transfer of Gripen fighters to Ukraine was raised.
An agreement was also reached on the production of the CV-90 armored vehicle in Ukraine.
