Sugar, spice and everything nice! This mix, combined with the accidental addition of Elemento X, were responsible for giving life to Sweetie, Bubbles and Blossom, The Superpowerful Girls, heroines of the homonymous animation, which became part of the programming of children who grew up between the end of the 90s and early 2000s.
Created by Craig McCrackenthe cartoon that featured the girls who have super abilities saving Townsville from the perversities of several villains, has several hidden curiosities, but don’t worry, we will reveal five of them below.
1. Different names in different places
In Brazil, girls are called Docinho, Lindinha and Florzinha, however, in different parts of the world they receive other names. In the original language, they are Blossom, Bubbles and Butch. On Cartoon Network Latin America, they are Chocolate, Bubble and Acorn, while in Italy they are called Lolly, Dolly and Molly saved the day.
2. Crossover?
In the first part of episode 7 of season 1 of ‘The Powerpuff Girls’, one of the residents of Townsville is none other than George Jetson, character from ‘The Jetsons’, animation from 1962.
3. Great tribute to the Beatles
In the episode ‘Meeting the “Beat Alls”’, O Macaco Loco, Elle, the Princess and Fuzzy Confusion unite and call themselves the “Beat Alls”. From then on, the story, which hit TV in 2001, featured 65 references to the Beatles ranging from song excerpts to reproductions of album covers.

4. Japanese Inspiration
The Crazy Monkey was inspired by a character from ‘Spectreman’, a Japanese sci-fi series released in 1971. The figure that threatens the peace of Townsville has not only his personality, but also the look very similar to Dr. Gori, the main villain of the production created in Japan.

5. Reboot on the way
Since it was released, the animation has become a huge success, earning some reboots and derivative productions over the years – being confirmed in July this year that there is one more on the way!

The information was released by Deadline which revealed that Craig McCracken will participate in the creative process and production of the reboot produced by the studios Hanna-Barbera that will bring the Powerpuff Girls back to Townsville, facing not only new enemies, but also meeting familiar villains.
