On August 17, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down two Ka-52 helicopters simultaneously, one of them with the help of a Swedish development.
Soldiers of the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using the Swedish RBS-70 portable anti-aircraft missile system, destroyed a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter near the village of Robotino, Zaporozhye region. This was reported by Defense Express.
Sweden supplied the RBS-70 complexes to the Ukrainian army in April of this year. Until now, there are no shots of the use of these air defense systems. Just today, fighters of the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine demonstrated how they shot down a Russian Ka-52 helicopter.
The publication notes that visually the launch of an anti-aircraft missile can be confused with the Javelin, but in the frames it is RBS-70. A feature of the rocket is that a “laser path” is used for guidance. The projectile leads the beam of the operator from the moment of launch until it hits the target.
Recall that today Ukrainian soldiers shot down two Russian Ka-52 helicopters near Bakhmut and the Zaporozhye region.
