However, by this period, Ukraine should have time to implement all the agreed legislative and institutional steps. Kiev hopes that EU accession negotiations will start anyway. On August 17, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna stated this during the conference “What does Ukraine’s path to the EU look like”.
These are changes that will be implemented over the years. But until October, we will ensure the implementation of all agreed legislative and institutional steps. And let’s hope that we will open the doors for a political solution,” the official said.
Stefanyshina stressed that it is more difficult for Ukraine than other countries that joined the European Union not because of the Russian invasion, but because “Ukrainians are moving into the EU, reforming the European Union itself.”
According to the Vice Prime Minister, Ukraine should be able to restore the electronic declaration of property of civil servants in a timely manner in accordance with European recommendations.
Recall that in August the media reported that the European Union is preparing an enlargement report, which will contain recommendations for Ukraine to start negotiations on joining the EU.
