The countries of the Global South can influence Russia and force it to change its position on the war against Ukraine, the head of the Foreign Ministry believes.
The dialogue in the organization of the Formula Peace Global Summit is moving in the right direction. This was stated by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with Arab News, published the previous day.
“Following the meeting in Jeddah, I can conclude that we are definitely moving in this direction at a great speed, and it will happen,” he said.
The minister emphasized that Ukraine actively cooperates with Saudi Arabia and other countries participating in the organization of the Formula of Peace summit.
“And the result of this summit is well understood – the Peace Formula of Ukraine, which is a comprehensive way to resolve the conflict, will be implemented, and all issues covered by this formula will begin to be implemented. This is the only way moving forward based on the UN Charter and international law,” Kuleba stressed. .
In his opinion, the countries of the Global South can influence Russia and force it to change its position on the war against Ukraine.
“So, maybe each country acting alone does not have enough energy to force Russia to change its position. But if you bring all these countries together, the cumulative effect on Russia can change situation,” he said.
According to Kuleba, Ukraine aims to unite countries that want to change the situation and end the war.
As is known, on August 5-6, in the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, a meeting of advisers to the heads of states on the Peace Formula was held with the participation of 42 countries, including the United States, China, India . and Brazil. Russia was not invited to the summit.
Therefore, Moscow was very offended and declared that “without the participation of Russia and taking into account its interests, no meetings on the topic of the Ukrainian crisis have the slightest additional value.”
