The Polish Army holiday on August 15 is dedicated to the Battle of Warsaw, when the Polish army, together with the army of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, defeated the Bolsheviks and preserved the independence of the young Polish state.
Thanks to the defenders of Ukraine, who prevented the Russian invasion by inflicting painful defeats on the enemy every day, Poland is now safe. This was announced on Tuesday, August 15, by Polish President Andrzej Duda during celebrations on the occasion of Polish Army Day, PAP reports.
“Across our eastern border, a full-scale war has been raging for a year and a half. Russia’s brutal aggression against independent Ukraine is causing death, disease and suffering. It is a war that, unfortunately- palm, still has no end in sight,” said Duda.
He noted that the Poles from the first minutes of the war took the side of Ukraine and helped in the fight against the Russian invaders.
“Thanks to our help, Ukraine defended itself and continues to fight. And thanks to the fact that the defenders of Ukraine prevent the Russian aggression, Poland is safer now,” he stressed.
The President emphasized that the future security of Poland is based on the support of Ukraine.
“If someone doesn’t understand this, if they criticize our participation and support, it means they don’t understand anything. They don’t understand what is the basis of Poland’s security,” he said.
Remember that in Poland they started talking about deploying nuclear weapons.
Poland will station a sapper battalion near Belarus and the Russian Federation.
