The contract, worth more than $70 million, was financed through the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian military will receive from Norway new systems to counter CORTEX TyphonC-UAS drones. This was announced by the Norwegian government on Monday, August 14.
The value of the contract is estimated at NOK 740 million (more than $70 million, – ed.). It is funded through the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine (IFU).
“This will greatly complicate Ukraine’s anti-drone capability and help protect Ukraine’s population and infrastructure,” said Eric Lee, Kongsberg DA director.
The Cortex Typhon C-UAS is a newly developed anti-drone system built from components from Teledyne Flir, Kongsberg and armored vehicles. The Norwegian Armed Forces provided Dingo vehicles, machine guns and ammunition.
It will be recalled that in July, Norway announced the transfer of another military aid package to Ukraine, which included two NASAMS anti-aircraft installations.
