On August 12, an engineering reconnaissance of the work site was carried out by the combined detachment. 150 meters of the river bed have been cleared and expanded and 150 meters of the bank have been strengthened, – said the head of the State Emergency Service Sergey Kruk.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko in his Telegram channel noted that Ukrainian rescuers “know their job well.”
Several founding meetings – and the work is in full swing, – he stressed. – This is how the EU civil protection mechanism works – a format of mutual support and assistance.
Since the beginning of August, Slovenia has been suffering from heavy rains, which led to landslides and a dam break, there are casualties. On August 11, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on providing Slovenia with humanitarian assistance to overcome the consequences of the flood. The next day, the newly erected detachment of the State Emergency Service began work in this country.
