Russia launched targeted shelling to stop a civilian ship in the Black Sea, calling it an act of piracy at Bankovaya.
Russia carried out targeted shelling to intercept a civilian ship in the Black Sea, said Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President.
This is an act of piracy, he stressed.
“Today’s targeted shelling and forced inspection by Russia of the international civilian dry cargo ship Sukra Okan, bound for the Ukrainian port of Izmail, is a complete violation of international maritime law, an act of piracy and a crime against civilian ships of a third country. in the waters of other states,” said Podolyak.
According to him, this precedent with an attempt to introduce “private law” requires:
– clear legal arrangement,
– identity of all people,
– recognition of the fact of committing a crime by the international community.
“Ukraine will draw all the necessary conclusions and choose the best answer,” the adviser insisted.
Recall that Russia stopped a foreign ship in the Black Sea. It went to the port of Izmail in the Odessa region. Russia said one of its warships fired “warning shots” at a cargo ship in the Black Sea after it failed to respond to a call to stop.
